Over the last few years meditation has become popular as a way to help reduce stress, be focused at work, sleep better, or simply relax. Yet meditation wasn’t invented merely to improve focus or to relax, but rather to grow and perfect our greatest human qualities:
loving-kindness, compassion, generosity, ethical self-control, and joy in everyday life. This lecture and meditation explore this higher purpose of meditation through contemplative techniques that steer our minds toward happiness, meaning, and benefiting others.
