“Combatting Coronavirus Fear with Compassion” live-streamed discussion and meditation at Tse Chen Ling Center for Tibetan Buddhist Studies, March 22, 2020

We share the meditation technique of Taking and Giving (Tonglen) that soothes our own fear and anxiety through imagining how others are suffering just as we are, and sincerely wishing to help, to take away our own and others’ pain.

This discussion and meditation by Scott Snibbe for the Tse Chen Ling Center for Tibetan Buddhist studies was given via Facebook Live video stream on March 22, 2020 due to the Coronavirus/Covid-19 outbreak and the “shelter in place” order for California. The topic was also addressed in podcast Episode 8: Combatting Coronavirus Fear with Compassion.

The talk takes a secular approach to Buddhist topics, requiring no religious beliefs, as part of Tse Chen Ling’s “Taste of Buddhism” series.
